What is causing your low back pain?

“Low Back Pain Chiropractor” is a common internet search phrase. Some chiropractors feel that we should not be painted into the “only low-back pain” corner. Personally, I’m flattered that chiropractic physicians are considered experts in the field of treating chronic and acute low-back pain.

We are experts in the field. We take the time to appropriately evaluate you, the patient, to determine the cause of the pain and work out a proper treatment plan. That plan includes therapy, stretches at home, and (our safe and effective specialty) spinal manipulation for improved joint biomechanics.

When a patient comes into my office complaining of Low-Back Pain, I need to determine what the cause might be. As I chiropractor, the root cause of the pain is my focus. I am not going to give you a drug to just cover up the pain hoping the body will fix itself in time.

There can be a number of things that go wrong with a low-back and each can cause pain. Your chiropractic physician needs to be able to appropriately diagnose your exact problem. Here is just a short list:

  • Sciatica
  • Facet Syndrome
  • Disc Herniation
  • Degenerative Disc Disease
  • Chemically Mediated Discogenic Pain Syndrome
  • Muscle Strain
  • Ligament Sprain
  • Spondylolisthesis
  • Spondylolysis
  • Stenosis
  • Subluxation
  • Facet Imbrication
  • and the list goes on and on….

You don’t need to know what each of those things are or how to fix them. Your chiropractor knows exactly what they are and how to correctly treat each one. Next time you have back pain, don’t reach for a pill! Reach for the phone and call your chiropractor!
